Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
- Develop visually captivating graphics and infographics to be shared digitally on social media, and regularly create content for RMTA social media platforms and the Authority’s website.
- Key messaging talking points and presentation development for public speaking opportunities and media interviews.
- Develop and implement the RMTA Communication & Marketing Plan and assist with updating as needed.
- Write and design quarterly RMTA newsletters.
- Assists with meeting preparations and setup, ability to act as meeting host and support virtual platform (Zoom/Teams) as needed.
- Works with the Chief of Staff throughout the creative and content development process of the RMTA Annual Report.
- Establish RMTA message as the regional leader in transportation planning, prioritizing and funding.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with other regional jurisdiction and agency partners to collaborate and cross-promote activities and programs.
- Interact with upper levels of management and submit status reports, budget information, recommendations, and problem alerts.
- Serve as official spokesperson, working closely with the media responding to media inquiries to ensure information is issued accurately and efficiently.
- Create and distribute press packets for executive leadership that reflect agency media coverage, as well as trends and news related to the transportation and tolling industry.
- Maintaining regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Manages and maintains the creative content, layout and design of the RMTA website to ensure accuracy and currentness of all posted information.
- Writes, proofreads, and edits agency publications, external and internal documents as assigned.
