About the RMTA: The RMTA was established by the Virginia General Assembly to build and operate a variety of public facilities and offer public services, especially transportation related, within the Richmond metropolitan area, each of which is operated and financed solely by user fees. About the Role: The Financial Director role requires progressively responsible financial and accounting management expertise needed to oversee a budget in excess of $20 million and a staff of four accounting personnel. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role collaborates on strategic planning and presenting to the Board of Directors.
Background in financial report preparation, statistical reports and the audit process needed. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible financial and accounting management and supervisory experience. Public sector experience (government financing, public bond indebtedness and risk management) is a plus. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance, with a master’s degree in business or public administration preferred and CPA strongly preferred. The candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of bond issuance, investment management and establishing relationships with the financial community and experience in managing automated financial systems with multiple cost centers. Experience working with Dynamics 365 BC or similar ERP system and strong demonstrated experience with Excel and PowerPoint required.
