Maintenance Worker

The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a Maintenance Worker to complete various maintenance-related assignments at RMTA facilities (toll plaza buildings, tunnels and tollbooths). This includes: Daily cleaning of facilities; landscaping (maintaining plants/shrubbery, cutting grass); degreasing toll lanes and canopies; removing snow/ice; painting; making routine repairs, installing drywall, filling pot holes, and other preventative maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions; have general knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment, maintenance, carpentry, plumbing and painting.  Mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of and experience using manual and gasoline powered lawn equipment; electric floor cleaning equipment; common hand tools. Ability to lift heavy weights (up to 75 lbs.) routinely. Must be available to report to work upon call-in during inclement weather or for special projects. Must have high school diploma or equivalent, valid VA driver’s license, and minimum 2 yrs maintenance exp.  Employment is contingent upon acceptable background and reference checks, and passing pre-employment drug screen.
