Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76)
Traffic Control Signs Will Be in Place
Richmond, VA – The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority announces lane closures on multiple dates on the Powhite Parkway (VA 76) between the James River Bridge and Forest Hill Avenue to support construction for the upcoming transition to all-electronic tolling.
Please note: Lane closures are subject to change, and additional closures may be implemented as construction progresses. The media and the public are encouraged to check the RMTA traffic advisory webpage regularly for the most up-to-date traffic information and advisories.
The closures will occur on:
- Monday, February 23 to Tuesday, February 24
Monday 6 p.m. to Tuesday 4 a.m.
Left and right-lane closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76) northbound
- Monday, February 23 to Tuesday, February 24
Monday 7 p.m. to Tuesday 4 a.m.
Left and right-lane closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76) southbound
- Tuesday, February 24 to Wednesday, February 25
Tuesday 7 p.m. to Wednesday 4 a.m.
Triple left-lane closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76) southbound
- Wednesday, February 25 to Thursday, February 26
Wednesday 7 p.m. to Thursday 4 a.m.
Triple right-lane closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76) southbound
- Thursday, February 26 to Friday, February 27
Thursday 7 p.m. to Friday 4 a.m.
Alternating, triple lane closures on Powhite Parkway (VA 76) southbound
Motorists are reminded to obey posted speed limits, use caution when traveling through work zones and carefully follow all roadway and overhead signage on the RMTA expressway system. New signage may be in place as part of the transition to all-electronic tolling (AET).
