Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority Unveils New Logo and Brand

A new look for a new era: modernizing the way the Greater Richmond moves

Richmond, VA (October 24, 2025)The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA) has officially launched a bold, new logo and brand, marking a pivotal moment in the agency’s evolution and reaffirming its commitment to accelerate transformative progress across the Greater Richmond Region. The design embodies RMTA’s unwavering dedication to modernizing the way the Greater Richmond moves and its vision for the future, while also honoring its nearly six decades of service to the region.

“This new identity is more than a logo – it’s a symbol of our momentum,” said RMTA Chief Executive Officer Joi Taylor Dean. “It reflects the innovation we’re delivering and the dynamic, forward-thinking future we’re shaping for the Greater Richmond Region.“

Inspired by RMTA’s iconic infrastructure – including the Boulevard Bridge, Powhite Parkway and Downtown Expressway – the new design captures RMTA’s role as a trusted connector and reinforces its commitment to lead with purpose and strategic thinking as it reimagines what’s next in regional mobility.

In addition to the new logo, refreshed elements include a sleek typeface and bolder colors which capture the essence of RMTA’s culture and were thoughtfully selected to convey the right tone, evoke meaningful emotion, and support clear, inclusive communication. More modernized graphics will be rolled out by RMTA over the coming weeks.

RMTA’s transformation is well underway. From leading the transition to all-electronic tolling in the Richmond area to working to conquer congestion and advocate for smart policy through leadership roles in international transportation organizations, RMTA is  modernizing and elevating the driver experience across the globe.

“We’re not just keeping pace – we’re setting the pace,” added Dean. “This rebrand is a bold step forward, and it reflects the energy, excellence and engagement that define RMTA today.”
