RMTA CEO Joi Taylor Dean Selected as 2026 “Women Who Move the Nation” Honoree by COMTO

 

Richmond, VA (April 14, 2026)Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA) CEO Joi Taylor Dean has been selected as a 2026 “Women Who Move the Nation” honoree by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). This national recognition highlights Dean’s leadership, commitment to innovation and contributions to advancing the transportation industry.

 

Throughout her career, Dean has emphasized the importance of collaboration and public service in transportation leadership. She is widely recognized for her mentorship and her advocacy for expanding opportunities for women and underrepresented professionals in transportation.

 

“Transportation is about more than roads and infrastructure — it’s about connecting people to opportunity and strengthening communities,” said Dean. As a founding member of the COMTO Richmond chapter, president of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association and CEO of RMTA, I am grateful to be part of the collaborative work supporting mobility in our communities. I am also honored to be recognized alongside so many inspiring women who are shaping the future of transportation.”

 

The 2026 honorees will be celebrated at the April 15 COMTO Women Who Move the Nation Awards Breakfast in Washington, D.C. with leaders from government, transit agencies and private industry in attendance.
