Traffic Advisory: Downtown Expressway (VA 195) Ramp Closures, Including Ramps to I-95

Traffic control signs will be in place.

Richmond, VA – The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority announces Downtown Expressway (VA 195) Ramp closures including ramps to I-95 for annual inspection.

The closures will occur on:

· Saturday, October 17 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Eastbound Downtown Expressway (VA 195) Ramp to I-95 northbound

No through lanes of I-95 will be closed, and the detour will be I-95 southbound to Maury Street

· Sunday, October 18

6 a.m. – 9 a.m.

I-95 southbound, right lane from Broad Street to the James River Bridge (Exit 74B and Exit 74A will remain open)
Eastbound Downtown Expressway (VA 195) Ramp to I-95 southbound
East Byrd Street Ramp (10^th Street) to Downtown Expressway (VA 195) eastbound

The detour will be I-95 southbound will be I-95 northbound to Exit 76A Chamberlayne Ave

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Eastbound Downtown Expressway (VA 195) Ramp to I-95 southbound
East Byrd Street Ramp (10th Street) to Downtown Expressway (VA 195) eastbound

The detour will be I-95 southbound will be I-95 northbound to Exit 76A Chamberlayne Ave

Motorists are reminded to pay attention to detour signage in the area and to exercise caution while traveling near the work zone. This work will be weather permitting.
